Like Husker Du, Fugazi is one of those seminal rock/punk bands you probably haven't really heard of, but whose influence is massive and exceedingly well deserved. Rising from the ashes of the incredibly influential harcore punk band Minor Threat, Fugazi was a departure from the hardcore style of Minor Threat and utilized a wide range of influences to create a truly unique sound. Like Minor Threat, the roots of the 80's and 90s Washington DC punk and hardcore sound was a big part of Fugazi but their sound was also more experimental, more diverse, and charted new territory from founder Ian McKay's traditional sound. Personally, I prefer some of Fugazi's more straight forward punk and rock songs but the diversity of their sound is really interesting. Enjoy...

For shits and giggles here is my favorite Minor Threat song, "I don't want to hear it".
