The last two weeks I have been rocking some new 2010 tunes and one that stands out in particular is the debut from a band called Surfer Blood. Their album Astrocoast is really, really excellent and really lives up to the large amount of hype it was recieving. Its really nice California influenced pop rock; it has some beach boys/60's surf rock type of influences. If you are a fan of bands like Vampire Weekend and Phoenix I highly recommend this album.
For the record, the worst band name of all time is a UK band called (I swear I am not joking here) Dogs Die in Hot Cars. So there you have it....
